MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY · WINNER 2021
A-Sense Lab is developing a new photo-electrochemical detection technology for molecular cancer biomarkers, and in addition set up a panel of those biomarkers. This technology allows for precise determination of such markers, which is crucial to optimize early diagnosis and follow up of the disease.
Abbeylitix is developing a decision-support system/platform for rhinologists. The high-fidelity computer simulation of nasal physiology in combination with medical images and measurements will lead to highly-valuable pre- and post-surgical insights to improve clinical information and the surgical success rate.
AYES delivers a mobile application that assists blind and visually impaired people to navigate safely from A to B. Our computer vision algorithms perceive the environment and help to avoid obstacles and determine safe crossing conditions. In combination with GPS we calculate a safe trajectory to their destination. We provide audio feedback to guide the visually impaired along their route.
Premat Vision is a start-up combining AI and neonatology in a clinical setting. They’re developing an tool to analyze and report neonatal care based on AI in observation and monitoring preterm and term babies. This provides a better integration of developmental neonatal care and reduce the workload for the medical and nursing staff.
Smart Face Masks
With use of state-of-the-art technology Smart Face Masks protect and monitor patients’ lungs. By including a speaker it improves communication for the patient, while gathering respiratory sounds to learn and train algorithms for more in-dept and accurate information for doctors.
Tympanoscope is implementing ‘structured light profilometry’ techniques in a miniaturized optical set-up such as a handheld otoscopic devices. This instrument will enable 3D imaging of the human eardrum, and improve diagnosis and treatment of patients.
MEDICAL DEVICE · WINNER 2020
Embocraft is set to position itself as an idea-shift disruptor to treat fusiform cerebral aneurysms with its patented Vessel Reshaping TechnologyTM and advanced manufacturing techniques. Embocraft will allow physicians to develop new treatment techniques by offering a unique dynamic, multi-component stent design to reshape and cure fusiform basilar artery aneurysms. By providing a dedicated, dynamic SMA solution, a new opportunity will be created to dynamically heal this lethal indication that’s often left untreated today.
Electoretinography (ERG) is a neurophysiological test in which the response of receptors in the retina of humans or animals in measured, provoked by light flashes. The ERG Cover offers a solution to safely shield the eyes of a patient, usually a young child, under full anaesthesia, from all incident light, and to subject the patient to an ISCEV-compliant scotopic ERG test phase.
Thermal Body Solutions
Thermal Body Solutions is developing a technology that combines a prototype for projecting thermal or hyperspectral data gathering with full-body statistical shape models to be able to monitor a patient over time. This is useful for monitoring limb blood flow, heat dissipation during exercise, monitoring inflammation, etc.
MEDICAL DEVICE & APP
Triple S is building a digital, affordable, small (portable) and handy automatic sunscreen spray to apply sunscreen all over your body in no time. This way you’ll have no more excuse to not apply sunscreen.
